Brennyn Daniels of Fairhaven, VT, joins TD Bank as store manager in Lake George

TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, has named Brennyn C. Daniels the Store Manager of the store located at 350 Canada St. in Lake George, N.Y. An Assistant Vice President, she is responsible for new business development, consumer and business lending, managing personnel and overseeing the day-to-day operations at the store serving customers throughout the area.

St Michael’s president & 3 professors to judge the Vermont FIRST Tech Challenge Championship

St Michael’s College President John J. Neuhauser will be a tournament judge for the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship, a technology contest involving some 400 to 450 high school students from Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Michigan.

Thirty schools, including nine from Vermont, are sending teams to the robotics competition to be held this Saturday, Feb. 23, in the UVM Davis Center. FIRST calls itself “the hardest challenge you’ll ever have.” The student competitors have been working for months to build robots that perform specified tasks.

Green Works announces the winners of the 2012 Industry Awards Program

Green Works/Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Industry Award Program. A panel of industry professionals and landscape architects met in Janaury. Projects were judged according to difficulty, proper horticultural practices, craftsmanship, and contributions to the quality of sustainability to the environment. Winners received their awards at the recent 2013 Green Works Winter Meeting & Trade Show held on 2/13/13 at the UVM Davis Center.

Students win top honors at statewide competition

During the dates of February 11th and 12th, 2013, Stafford Technical Center Hospitality and Entrepreneurship students participated in the annual Vermont DECA Career and Development Conference. Events include public speaking, role plays and written tests. Students that earned gold medals and 2nd year students will be attending the National DECA Conference in Anaheim, California in April.

VT's top two youth volunteers selected in annual national awards program

Neel Desai, 18, and Michaela Forgione, 12, both of South Burlington, have been named Vermont's top two youth volunteers of 2013 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. Neel was nominated by South Burlington High School in South Burlington, and Michaela was nominated by Mater Christi School in Burlington. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, now in its 18th year, is conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
