Merrill Lynch financial advisor Theresa Swett joins The Ewins Kowalski Group

Merrill Lynch has announced that Financial Advisor Theresa “Tess” Swett has joined the Ewins Kowalski Group in the Merrill Lynch Burlington office.

“We are excited to have Tess as a new addition to the Ewins Kowalski Group. Her experience will be invaluable as we continue to offer personalized wealth management solutions and holistic advice and guidance to individuals, families and businesses in Vermont” said George Ewins, Jr., Senior Financial Advisor, of the Group.

CVMC therapists certified for lymphedema management

Marlaina Montgomery, OTR/L, CLT and Sarah Bache, PT, WCC, CLT were recently certified for Lymphedema Management joining a team that includes four others in Central Vermont Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Services Department.

They took their certification training at The Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy, an educational institution for training clinical staff in the Foeldi Method of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), the therapeutic system regarded as the "Gold Standard" for the treatment of lymphedema by the International Society of Lymphology (ISL).

Keiths II opens in Rutland

The ribbon is cut at the new retail and manufacturing location for Keiths II, located at 15 West St., in Rutland. Keiths II has transformed the former Armory building into a state of the art manufacturing and retail space while maintaining the historic aspects of the building. NRG Systems adds to team

Renewable energy measurement equipment manufacturer NRG Systems announces the addition of Burlington resident August (Gus) Gruner to its team as a sales associate.

Before joining NRG Systems, Gruner was a contractor sales representative for Best Tile of Vermont. He worked previously at The Traffic Safety Store in Pennsylvania as a Stencil/Warehouse Technician, for the Chester, PA County Planning Commission as an intern, and for National Auto, also in Pennsylvania, as a Sales Associate.

Johnson State College writing professor receives Fulbright grant to teach at university in Latvia

Associate Professor Tyrone Shaw of Johnson State College has received a Fulbright Specialist grant to teach at Riga Stradins University in Latvia for two weeks this April. In his first week as a Fulbright specialist, Shaw will deliver a 35-hour seminar on media ethics to undergraduates; the second week, he will focus on issues in the American news media, including media conglomeration, coverage of political campaigns and the increasing influence of political advertising in the electoral process, sociological norms within the profession, and the promise of civic journalism.

ECHO education director receives year-long fellowship through Noyce Leadership Institute

ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center’s Director of Education, Molly Loomis, joined 16 other colleagues from around the world in receiving a year-long fellowship from the Noyce Leadership Institute. The fellowships were awarded to individuals representing ten institutions in the U.S. as well as several in the U.K., and one each in Austria, Germany and Canada.
