Raising funds that remain in the local community to support patient and families dealing with a cancer diagnosis is the focus of a new organization formed last month in Bennington. The group, calling itself the Cancer Center Community Crusaders, is made up of private individuals who are dedicated to providing financial, physical, and emotional support to members of the community and their families as they strive to obtain the best cancer care and treatment possible.

Many celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Andrea Mead Lawrence Lodge at Pico Mountain and new home and state headquarters - the Turtle Ridge Center.
The host resort, Killington Resort, and its parent company, Powdr Corp., surprised the center with an additional $50,000 toward their fundraising campaign. This brings in $100,00 of the fundraising goal.
