Governor appoints John Davis, CPA to Vermont Economic Progress Council

John Davis, a Certified Public Accountant and resident of South Burlington, has been tapped by Gov. Peter Shumlin as the newest member of the Vermont Economic Progress Council. The Council is an 11 member board that authorizes job creation incentives and oversees the Tax Increment Financing District program and the Windham County Economic Development Program. Davis fills the remainder of a term vacated by the retirement of Nancy Port from the panel.

Experienced web designer brings diverse talents to Jvillage

Jvillage Network, a provider of synagogue websites and online membership solutions for Jewish communities, has hired Geoffrey Pizzutillo as lead web designer and developer.

Pizzutillo’s experience includes creative direction, design, and front-end development, with proficiencies in several languages including HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery, as well as in-depth knowledge of the Adobe suite, other design software, and popular content management systems including Drupal and Wordpress.

Woodstock Farmers’ Market’s owner Patrick Crowl was selected by his peers for a national council

Woodstock Farmers’ Market’s owner Patrick Crowl was selected by his peers to join a national trade organization’s retailer council for a two-year term.

The Specialty Food Association recently announced the election of four members, which included Crowl, to its Retailer Network Committee.

Manchester school leader elected head of Vermont Independent Schools Association

Fran Bisselle, the head of the Maple Street School in Manchester, Vermont has been elected head of the Vermont Independent Schools Association (VISA). VISA represents Vermont’s community of 127 independent elementary and secondary schools. Independent schools educate eleven percent of all students attending kindergarten through grade 12 in Vermont. Bisselle has been head at Manchester’s Maple Street School since 2006. The school enrolls 105 students in grades kindergarten through eight. Previously she was a doctoral teaching fellow at the University of Vermont.
