HP Hood awards 18 high school seniors

HP Hood, New England's leading dairy processor, today awarded 18 high school seniors with a $5,000 Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship® presented by Hood Milk. During a ceremony held at the TD Garden, three high school seniors from each of the six New England states -- Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont -- were honored for their integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the playing field.

Norwich University’s new residence hall to be named Dalrymple Hall

Norwich officials announced that they will name the university’s newly constructed, $23.2 million civilian student residence hall Dalrymple Hall in honor of current university trustee Peter Dalrymple ’65 and his wife Marlene ‘66, of Houston, Texas, in recognition of their lifetime of philanthropy to the university.

The modern, energy efficient residence located next to South Hall, opened in Fall 2014 as the second of a three-building plan to house civilian students on campus. With 182 bedrooms, Dalrymple Hall has capacity for 285 occupants.

Mount Mansfield Union High School Cougars emerge as winners of the 2015 Vermont Treasury Cup Challenge

It took 17 rounds of competition and two championship matches for the winner of the 2015 Vermont Treasury Cup Challenge to be determined. With just one correct answer separating the two teams, the Mount Mansfield Union High School Cougars beat defending champs South Burlington to take the tournament victory. The day-long high school competition tests student knowledge in personal finance and economics and is directed by the Vermont State Treasurer’s Office.
