Paul Greene joins National Life as vice president & chief underwriter

Paul Greene, a leader in the underwriting industry, has joined National Life Group as vice president and chief underwriter.

Greene has worked in leadership roles for several companies over a 29-year career.

“Paul is an experienced underwriting leader in our industry with a proven track record in brokerage, career distribution, as well as the reinsurance marketplace,” said William Whitsell, National Life senior vice president.

Norwich University names new vice president for enrollment management

Norwich University has named Greg Matthews as the new vice president for enrollment management responsible for the admissions and financial aid operational units and working on branding and recruitment beginning June 1.

Matthews is a proven enrollment management and financial aid leader with 26 years of experience in higher education including Landmark College, Colby-Sawyer College and Ohio Wesleyan University.

BMH announces 2015 Employees of the Year

To cap off a week’s worth of employee recognition events in celebration of National Hospital Week, Steve Gordon, President and CEO of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital invited all hospital staff to join him for an ice cream social where he announced BMH’s 2015 Employees of the Year.

Departing from BMH’s tradition of naming one employee for the honor each year, two employees were named for 2015. According to Gordon, “Their nominations from colleagues described qualities we all appreciate in our co-workers and to which we should aspire ourselves,”

ACTR/Stagecoach executive director nationally honored

The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) has honored Jim Moulton of Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) and Stagecoach Transportation Services (Stagecoach) as the 2015 Community Transportation Manager of the Year. CTAA consists of member organizations that support creating mobility for all Americans regardless of where they live or work. Each year CTAA chooses from the best among thousands of Community Transportation Managers across the nation to receive this award. Moulton is the first Vermonter to be selected for this honor.

TD Bank names Michelle Putvain store manager in St Johnsbury

TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, has promoted Michelle L. Putvain to Assistant Vice President, Store Manager of the store at 301 Railroad St. in St. Johnsbury, Vt. She is responsible for new business development, consumer and business lending, managing personnel and overseeing the day-to-day operations at the store serving customers throughout the region.

United Way of Chittenden County community impact award goes to…

Executive Director, Martha Maksym, of the United Way of Chittenden County presented the Community Impact Award to the team of Jan Demers, E.D. of CVOEO, John Collinsworth from UVM Medical Center, and John Caulo and Tom Bonnette of Champlain College for their collaboration in creating a temporary warming shelter in Burlington this last winter.

In the two month period the shelter was open, a total of 92 peoplesought and received a safe and warm place to rest for the night; 10 moved on to transitional or permanent housing; 14 found employment.

Former VT municipal leader David Crawford joins Stantec

Senior Project Manager David Crawford has joined the South Burlington office of design firm Stantec.

Crawford has over 40 years of management experience in the public and private sectors, particularly in Vermont city and town government. His roles have ranged from town manager in charge of financial, personnel, and capital project management, to director of construction management for multi-million-dollar public works and school projects for such towns as Winooski, Essex Junction, Rutland, and Middlebury.
