Shane Mispel joins Union Bank’s commercial lending team

David Silverman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank has announced the recent hiring of Shane Mispel to the position of Assistant Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer. Shane will be dividing his time working in the Main office in Morrisville and in St. Johnsbury.

Equipped with many years of banking and financial industry sales experience, Mispel will be responsible for servicing an existing portfolio of commercial loans and developing and underwriting new account relationships.

Vermont’s tourism industry professionals gathered this week in Killington, Vt. for the 33rd annual Vermont Tourism Summit, formerly known as the Vermont Travel Industry Conference. Together, they celebrated the success of their peers with six awards; two presented by the Vermont Tourism Summit and four presented by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. The awards ceremony was emceed by Tim Piper, President of the Vermont Inn and Bed & Breakfast Association (VIBBA).

Vermont students recognized for achievement in financial literacy programs

From coin identification to how our banking system works—Vermont students were challenged this year, through two financial literacy programs, to learn more about how our economy works. State Treasurer Beth Pearce recognized student achievement in the Reading is an Investment program and the Be Money Wise financial literacy poster contest. Both programs are administered by the Treasurer’s office.

Butterfield, Nedde, Youkel acquires TD Bank building in St Albans

Doug Nedde and Grant Butterfield from Nedde Real Estate

and Alain Youkel from Youkel Architecture + Development, have acquired

the 22,000 SF historic TD Bank building located at 8 North Main St in downtown

St Albans, Vermont from TD Bank. TD Bank will continue business

in the first floor of the building and plans have begun for renovations on the

second, third and fourth floors for market rate, modern apartments.
