Elizabeth Harlow recently recognized as Young New Professional of the Year by CVAIP

Elizabeth Harlow, a Commercial Lines Customer Service Agent and Small Business Producer in Kinney Pike Insurance’s Williston Office, was recently recognized as Young New Professional of the Year by the Champlain Valley Association of Insurance Professionals (CVAIP). Harlow was honored with this award at a recent gathering of Insurance Professionals in Colchester, Vermont.

UVM Alumni Association selects Bob Pepperman Taylor for 2016 Kidder Award

Bob Pepperman Taylor, professor in the Department of Political Science and founding dean of the Honors College at the University of Vermont, has been named winner of the 2016 George V. Kidder Outstanding Faculty Award by the UVM Alumni Association.

The award, given annually since 1974, honors full-time faculty for excellence in teaching and advising, for their ability to inspire students and have a lasting influence on their lives and for their positive impact on campus life beyond the classroom. Dozens of faculty, alumni and students wrote in support of Taylor.

DuBois & King opens Brandon office

DuBois & King (D&K), a consulting engineering firm founded in Randolph, Vermont, in 1962, has opened a new office in Brandon. The 25 Union Street location provides a base of operations for firm engineers living on the western side of the Green Mountains and the location will better serve clients along the Route 7 corridor. The firm is headquartered in Randolph and also has offices in South Burlington and Springfield.

Ledyard National Bank promotes Donna Batchelder to senior vice president

Ledyard National Bank has announced the promotion of Donna Batchelder to Senior Vice President. Her promotion is in addition to her title as Director of Client Services with Ledyard Financial Advisors. Donna’s new role will include supervising both client services staff and account administrators. The consolidation of supervisory responsibilities under Donna’s new role will allow for opportunities in staff training, consistent application of policy procedures, and opportunities to identify and create efficiencies in how Ledyard administers their clients’ assets.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital hires new director of human resources

Steven R. Gordon, President and CEO of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital announced today that Bill Norwood has been hired as BMH’s new Director of Human Resources. Norwood was previously employed as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA, where he focused on employee relations, labor relations, recruitment and retention, compensation, and benefits. A graduate of Greenfield Community College, with a degree in Business Management, Norwood has a professional background in both the insurance and manufacturing industries.
