Vermont Community Foundation names Elisabeth Marx Philanthropic Advisor for Southwestern Vermont

The Vermont Community Foundation has hired Elisabeth Marx as its Senior Philanthropic Advisor for southwestern Vermont. She was selected by a hiring committee made up of community leaders from the southwest region of the state. Before joining the Community Foundation, Marx served as Senior Director of Strategic Collaborations at United Way of Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin, where her role was to build the capacity of initiatives through program development, nonprofit capacity building, and major gifts and grants.

UVM Senior Cadet Kaelyn Burbey receives top ROTC award

Cadet Kaelyn Burbey, a senior in the University of Vermont’s Honors College majoring in environmental engineering with a math minor, has received the ROTC Legion of Valor Bronze Cross Award, given annually for achievement of scholastic excellence in military and academic subjects. Burbey, one of only 13 cadets nationally to receive the award, ranks in the top 10 percent of the nation’s senior cadets.
