Program sponsors Woodworking Network and the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) feted the inaugural Wood Industry 40 Under 40 Class of 2016 with special activities during the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) in Atlanta. IWF is the largest woodworking technology trade show in North America. The 2016 inaugural 40 Under 40 program identified movers and shakers making an impact in wood products manufacturing. Winners were selected by a panel of Woodworking Network editors from a field of more than 135 nominations.

Vermont National Country Club PGA Professional staff honored by the New England PGA and the Vermont Chapter of the New England PGA. The Professionals at VNCC have accumulated many awards over the years but this year three PGA Professionals at the same facility have been honored by their fellow PGA Professionals.

Roundtable President recognized by New England Secondary School Consortium - Referencing her valuable contributions to the State of Vermont in education policy, the New England Secondary School Consortium Council has selected Lisa Ventriss, President of Vermont Business Roundtable as a Public Will Fellow and member of the Vermont Team. The Public Will Forum will serve as an expert advisory council informing the work of state agencies of education and the governing body of the NESSC.

The Vermont Community Foundation has hired Elisabeth Marx as its Senior Philanthropic Advisor for southwestern Vermont. She was selected by a hiring committee made up of community leaders from the southwest region of the state. Before joining the Community Foundation, Marx served as Senior Director of Strategic Collaborations at United Way of Dane County in Madison, Wisconsin, where her role was to build the capacity of initiatives through program development, nonprofit capacity building, and major gifts and grants.

Cadet Kaelyn Burbey, a senior in the University of Vermont’s Honors College majoring in environmental engineering with a math minor, has received the ROTC Legion of Valor Bronze Cross Award, given annually for achievement of scholastic excellence in military and academic subjects. Burbey, one of only 13 cadets nationally to receive the award, ranks in the top 10 percent of the nation’s senior cadets.
