Rice Memorial announces new principal

The Most Reverend Christopher J Coyne, Bishop of Burlington and President of Rice Memorial High School [RMHS] and the RMHS School Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Lisa Lorenz of Milton as the new Principal of Rice. This year, Ms Lorenz has been serving at Rice as Interim Principal and now takes on this permanent role effective today. She will continue in her role as Superintendent of Schools for the remainder of the school year.

NEFCU awards $5000 for Vermont National Guard scholarships

On Wednesday, February 7, New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) awarded five, $1000.00 scholarships to members of the Vermont National Guard. Presentation of the scholarships took place at the National Guard Association of Vermont’s Annual Scholarship Breakfast at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Montpelier. A sixth scholarship was presented by the National Guard Association of Vermont. On hand to present the scholarships for NEFCU were Cindy Morgan, Senior Marketing Executive, and Bill Smith, Senior Retail Delivery Executive.

Vermont Association of Insurance Professionals announces new members

The Vermont Association of Insurance Professionals is pleased to announce that Allison Domey, Kelly Knotek, Crista Peck & Ben Taylor from Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has become the newest members of the VTAIP. Membership in VTAIP is an industry commitment to the insurance community through leadership development, career enhancement and creating relationships with other industry related connections.

The VTAIP meets monthly and encourages outside community members to join us at our dinner meetings to connect and network with insurance related professionals.

SVHC Foundation names 2018 Vision Award honorees

Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) will present the 2018 Vision Awards at the organization’s inaugural Centennial Gala. The awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions in support of SVHC’s mission and the community. The event will take place on the eve of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s 100th anniversary, Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the 1768 Hubbell Homestead at Colgate Park in Bennington.

Vermont Medical Society conducts health care advocacy in Washington

Botzow and Mullin receive Vermont Economic Advancement Award

Vermont Rep Bill Botzow (D-Pownal) and former Vermont Sen Kevin Mullin (R-Rutland) were recognized by the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) on February 21st for their commitment to enacting policies aimed at growing Vermont’s economy. Vermont Secretary of Commerce and Community Development Michael Schirling presented Botzow and Mullin with the agency’s first Vermont Economic Advancement Awards during the ThinkVermont Week Legislative Luncheon in Montpelier.
