Rutland’s Lutz receives International Mountain Biking Association Volunteer of the Year award

The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) has presented Shelley Lutz (Center Rutland, Vt) with the 2018 “Scott “Superman” Scudamore Volunteer Leadership Award” for her relentless and selfless service to her community. Lutz is one of the founding members of the Pine Hill Partnership and currently serves as the organization’s secretary.

The award honors outstanding volunteers who are making a significant contribution to the mountain bicycling community. IMBA received more than 20 nominations from all ten regions in the United States.

NBT Bank hires Posternak as Burlington branch manger

NBT Bank New England President Matthew Durkee recently announced NBT hired Michael Posternak as a branch manager for the bank’s Burlington Office. Posternak has 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, starting as a market manager for the Chittenden Bank in St Albans in 2001. Prior to joining NBT, he spent eight years working as a branch manager in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.

Sara Holbrook Community Center’s middle school enrichment program at Hunt Middle School has a new director

Gabriel Diaz is the new director of two Sara Holbrook Community Center programs. Diaz will lead the Center’s before and after school enrichment program at Lyman C Hunt Middle School, which serves over 350 students annually. Tuition-free courses and workshops in areas such as STEM, the arts, agriculture, community service, and music are offered every five to seven weeks. Diaz will also direct the Burlington-Winooski Middle School Summer Program, offering enrichment activities for over 285 middle school-aged youth from the cities of Burlington and Winooski.

CVOEO announces 2018 Crystal Family New Hope Award recipients

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is excited to announce the 2018 Crystal Family New Hope Award recipients. This year, there will be two awards of $500 granted to Masiti Mohamed, and the Adhikari family, owners of the Everest Market in Essex Junction. The awards will be presented at festivities to be held at the Bobbin Mill Community Room, 234 So. Champlain Street, Burlington, on November 5 at 5:00 pm.
