Energy Action Network announces new board members, fellows program

The Energy Action Network (EAN) today announced the addition of four Board Members and the creation of a new Fellows program to help expand research and analysis on meeting Vermont’s total energy and emissions reduction commitments.

“We are excited to welcome Neale Lunderville, Brian Gray, Linda McGinnis, and Sarah Brock to the Board,” said Leigh Seddon, EAN’s President and Board Chair. “Each new Board Member brings a depth and diversity of experience, as well as valuable expertise regarding Vermont’s energy and economic future.”

Northfield Savings Bank announces changes to Board of Trustees

Northfield Savings Bank (NSB) announces changes to its Board of Trustees. The Bank is grateful to outgoing Board member Lauren Wobby for 18 years of dedicated service and pleased to welcome Kyle Dodson. Wobby, of Northfield, joined the Board in 2001 after serving as a Corporator since 1998. The Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer at Norwich University, Wobby carries on as a Corporator after completing her term on the Board this month.

NEFCU awards 2019 Nursing Scholarships

New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) recently named the three winners of the 2019 NEFCU Nursing Scholarships. Each year, NEFCU’s Nursing Scholarship Program provides three scholarships of $3000 each to qualified applicants.

Hanna Hurtubise, a senior at Richford Junior Senior High School, will be attending the University of Vermont.

Bidhya Chamlagai, a sophomore at the University of Vermont, is pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Montpelier Alive announces new board members

Montpelier Alive today announced the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors: Denise Johnson, Stephani Kononan, Jessica Turner, and Peter Walke.

Montpelier Alive Executive Director Dan Groberg announced, “I am pleased to welcome our four newest members to our Board of Directors. They each have a unique background, with diverse experiences that make them an asset to Montpelier Alive and our work to celebrate downtown Montpelier.

UVM junior wins competitive Truman Scholarship

Junior Environmental Studies major Jillian Scannell has been named a 2019 Harry S. Truman Scholar, one of only 62 college junior-year students in the country to win the highly competitive national award. The Truman Scholarship recognizes outstanding students who want to pursue a career in public service and provides them with financial support for graduate study, leadership training and fellowship with likeminded students.

Scannell was selected for her environmental commitment and campus leadership.
