Sharon Leach, PhD, has been named a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont. Dr Leach is a clinical neuropsychologist at the Stern Center for Language and Learning with over 20 years of experience providing evaluations for children, adolescents and adults. Together with Julia Molson, PsyD, Dr Leach is a Supervising Psychologist of the School Consultation rotation, a component of the Pediatric Psychiatry Fellowship at UVM’s Larner College of Medicine.

Maj John Merrigan, who joined the Vermont State Police more than 22 years ago, is retiring later this month following a distinguished career that included service as a road trooper, undercover narcotics investigator and commander of one of the agency’s three divisions.

Since early 2018, Merrigan has led the Field Force Division, which encompasses all Vermont State Police uniformed troopers, corporals, sergeants and lieutenants at the barracks level.

A native of Brattleboro, Merrigan said his plan growing up was to join the Vermont State Police.

UVM Health Network Porter Medical Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Anna Benvenuto as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Benvenuto will replace Dr. Carrie Wulfman who announced her resignation from this post in order to focus on her work as a primary care physician in Brandon and as Porter’s Regional Physician Leader for the UVM Health Network. Dr. Benvenuto joined the Porter Medical Staff in 2012 as and OB/GYN specialist and continues to care for patients at the Porter Women’s Health practice, while also serving as the Medical Director of Specialty Services.
