Mary Cushman, MD, MSc, joins the American Heart Association Eastern States Board of Directors. Dr. Cushman is a Professor of Medicine and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and a hematologist in the Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she is Director of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Program. Cammie Kumetz is a Certified Orthopaedic Assistant and a Certified Medical Assistant. Cammie has worked locally in Vermont for the last eight years in an Orthopaedic office. Cammie obtained her AAS degree in 1996 from Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, NY and then went on to work for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for 15 years, first as a Toxicology Technician and later as an IT Analyst.

Cammie will be working as a Certified Orthopaedic Assistant at Lakeshore Hand Surgery and is excited to be a part of the team.

The Vermont State Police held its Annual Awards Ceremony on Sept 6, 2019, in the House Chamber of the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier. Gov Phil Scott, Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Schirling and Col. Matthew T. Birmingham, director of the state police, honored members of the agency and others for acts of heroism and community service. They also recognized 28 sworn and two civilian members of the state police who are receiving promotions.

In addition, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, Arlington, and Associate Degree in Nursing from Castleton University.

She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Walter Reed National Military Center and internship with Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr Cyr is board-certified in Anesthesiology.
