CCV student receives Walgreens Pharmacy technician scholarship

Community College of Vermont (CCV)-Montpelier student Marcus Carr has been awarded a $130 scholarship to cover the cost of the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam fee from Walgreens and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

“I am honored to receive this scholarship to further my goals in becoming a pharmacist,” said Carr. “I would like to thank Walgreens and Phi Theta Kappa for this scholarship, and appreciate that I am a recipient.” Carr is working toward an associate degree in STEM studies and a pharmacy technician certificate.

SVHC welcomes Morrissey as legal counsel

Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) is pleased to announce Jason Morrissey, Attorney, as its legal counsel. In addition to acting as counsel to SVHC, Morrissey will continue operating his private law practice in Bennington. The late Tom Jacobs had served as SVHC’s general counsel until his death in 2020.

Lowe promoted to president of the Woodstock Inn & Resort

John T. Hallowell, managing director of the Woodstock Inn & Resort and vice-chair of the Woodstock Resort Corporation, announced the promotion of W. Courtney Lowe to president of the Woodstock Inn & Resort, effective July 1, 2021. Lowe, who joined the resort in 2010 as director of sales and marketing, was named vice president of Marketing and Business Development in 2018. He will oversee all resort operations in his new position.
