NVRH Gray Gallery welcomes local photographer Tim Carpenter

The Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is pleased to announce “THRU MY LENS,” a new display by photographer Tim Carpenter. The exhibit opens Thursday, June 24, and runs until Monday, August 16, 2021.

Carpenter was born and raised in the Northeast Kingdom. His first camera, a Polaroid Pronto, was a gift from his mother when he was in high school.

The subject of Carpenter’s work is mostly rural New England with an emphasis on Vermont.

The Violin Family by Melissa Perley wins 2021 IndieReader Discovery Award

On Thursday, June 2nd, IndieReader, one of the original review services for self, hybrid and independently published authors, announced the winners of the tenth annual IndieReader Discovery Awards (IRDAs) for 2021. The Violin Family published by Rootstock Publishing of Montpelier, Vermont, and written by Melissa Perley of Berlin, Vermont, won in the children’s category.

Passalacqua joins Copper Leaf Financial

Molly Passalacqua has joined Copper Leaf Financial as a Wealth Advisor. Molly has a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Bentley University, holds the Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) designation, and the Certificate in Financial Planning. She is currently working toward achieving the prestigious Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification in 2021.

New hires announced at Bennington College

Bennington College President Laura Walker has announced that Dr. Maurice Hall has been appointed Provost of the College. He will assume this position on July 28. This is the latest announcement in a string of new hires for the College under President Laura Walker including Claudia Keenan as Senior Vice President for Advancement and Communications and Dr. Alfredo Medina as the new VP for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and College Diversity Officer.

V4A appoints Hayden as new executive director

The Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) announced that Mary Hayden of Barre, Vermont has been appointed as the new Executive Director. An experienced public sector and non-profit leader, Mary has served as the Development and Communications Director of Central Vermont Council on Aging, one of five area agencies on aging, for the past five years. Prior to that, Mary served ten years as a manager in the Vermont Judiciary overseeing family court advocacy programs for children and families.
