Giavara appointed interim director and CEO

Giavara was appointed to the position of Interim Director and CEO effective July 1, 2021. Patricia Giavara served as VMEC’s Assistant Director for 12 years with leadership roles in VMEC’s strategic planning, new business development opportunities, stakeholder and partnership relationships, and services portfolio development and delivery including growth services and technology acceleration.

Hunger Free Vermont welcomes 2 new members to board of directors

Hunger Free Vermont is pleased to announce the election of two new board members, Thomas Paron and Shane Rogers. “I am pleased with the strong community interest in supporting Hunger Free Vermont's mission by serving on the Board of Directors. FPF continues to grow with new hires

Front Porch Forum (FPF) is continuing its growth trajectory with two new hires. This staff expansion comes in the wake of many milestones, including record-setting member counts, forum postings and advertiser activity; major software developments, design improvements, and new features; and awards, accolades, and speaking invitations.

New staffers, Chloe Tomlinson, Director of the Community Division, and Ariel Wish, Sales Support Associate, will use their unique roles to fulfill the organization’s mission of helping neighbors connect and build community.

Vermont Arts Council board of trustees elects new officers

The Vermont Arts Council elected new officers at its annual board meeting in June and welcomed one new trustee.

New chair is Rebecca McMeekin (Braintree) who has served on the board since 2018 and was previously vice-chair. McMeekin replaces Gail Nunziata who has chaired the board since 2018.

New vice-chair is Greg Paus (Hyde Park) who has served on the board since 2017.

Re-elected are secretary Ed Clark (Guildhall) and treasurer Greg Sargent (St. Albans).
