Middlebury names Goss Vice President for Human Resources

Middlebury has named Caitlin Goss vice president for human resources and chief people officer. She will begin her new role on September 13. A native Vermonter who grew up in Hinesburg, Goss holds an MBA in sustainable innovation from the University of Vermont and a bachelor's in political science and East Asian studies from Dickinson College. As an exchange student, she attended Beijing University, where she became fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Downs Rachlin Martin announces new attorney

Monica Allard has joined the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC and has begun work in the firm’s Litigation Group in Burlington, Vermont. Monica comes to DRM after having practiced in the financial services section of a large international law firm in Boston, Massachusetts. At DRM, Monica will have the opportunity to explore a broad range of subjects in the firm’s litigation group, including commercial and corporate disputes, health care law, personal injury, white-collar crime and government enforcement.

The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director Matthew Harrington will host Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s (SVMC) Chief Medical Officer Trey Dobson, MD, for a live program, Shires Health, at noon Thursday, August 5 on Facebook Live and on CAT-TV’s public access channel 1075. Southwestern Vermont Health Care’s (SVHC) Medical Matters Weekly with Dr. Trey Dobson—a weekly interactive, multiplatform medical-themed talk show—will feature Art Groux, the executive director of the Bennington Rescue Squad on its August 11 program. The show will air at 12 p.m. Groux will discuss local and national trends within Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
