PC Construction wins two awards from Associated General Contractors of Vermont

PC Construction received two awards last week at the annual meeting of the Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT). The company earned a Best Builders Award in the Heavy Industrial Renovation category for its work on the Green Mountain Power Dam in Middlesex, and one of PC’s project managers, Anne Minor, won a Rising Stars Award.

Norwich University names Danielle Pelczarski as Chief of Staff

Norwich University President Mark Anarumo announced that Danielle Pelczarski, deputy commandant of the California State University Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California, has been named senior vice president and chief of staff, effective March 2022.

Pelczarski replaces Dave Whaley, who assisted in creating the position over 18 months ago while serving simultaneously as secretary to the Board of Trustees and senior philanthropic advisor to the development office, full time positions he will retain upon Pelczarski’s arrival.

Vermont farmer Guy Choiniere recognized with the New England Leopold Conservation Award

At a conference on November 18, Guy Choiniere, a 4th generation dairy farmer from Highgate Center, Vermont, was presented with the 2021 New England Leopold Conservation Award. The award recognizes landowners who inspire others with their dedication to land, water and wildlife resources in their care. During the award ceremony at the Regional Conservation Partnership Network Gathering, Guy dedicated the award to his father, Henry, who started the farm’s conservation journey.

Leahy announces nomination of Vermonter to serve as Northern Border Regional Commission Co-Chair

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) says he is proud to announce that a longtime member of his staff, Chris Saunders, has been nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as the co-chair of the Northern Border Regional Commission.

Shelton Walker named Inaugural Chief of Staff & Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Bennington College

Bennington College President Laura Walker announced that Shelton Walker (no relation) has been appointed to the inaugural role of Chief of Staff & Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the College. Shelton, who will assume the position on January 18, 2022, comes to Bennington from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she serves as Chief of Staff & Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives.

New Board of Directors joins King Street Center

Jonathan Seaver of South Burlington, Vermont joined the King Street Center Board of Directors in November 2021. Seaver, employed by People’s United Bank as a Vice President in its Commercial Lending group, has a long track record of volunteering with the organization prior to this appointment. Beginning with King Street Center as a reading tutor in 2018, Seaver then joined the Board of Directors’ Finance Committee in 2019 as an ad hoc member, helping to secure a PPP loan for the Center when the COVID-19 pandemic first began.
