Curtis Fund announces first group of early-childhood scholarship awardees
High school students Addie Riche, Emily Cousins and Tela Dykes have been announced as the first recipients of a new scholarship program for Vermonters seeking to become early-childhood educators.
Riche is a senior at the Patricia Hannaford Career Center and Middlebury Union High School; Cousino is enrolled at the Hannaford Center and Mount Abraham Union Middle and High School in Bristol; and Dykes attends Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester.
Killington’s Mike Solimano honored with SAMMY Leadership Award
Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington and Pico Ski Resort Partners, has been named a recipient of a 2023 Sammy Leadership Award by the trade publication Ski Area Management. Solimano won in the category of “builder of teams.”
The Sammy Awards honor innovative, inspiring, courageous and passionate industry leaders who are making a difference locally and nationally. Recipients are determined based on nominations by members of the ski and snowboard industry.
