Directors of Green Mountain Power Corporation (NYSE:GMP) announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 per share on the utility's Common Stock, payable March 31, 2004 to holders of record at the close of business on March 12, 2004. The new indicated annual dividend rate is $0.88, an increase of 16 percent over the previous indicated annual rate of $0.76.
“The Company believes that, in light of the general practice in the utility industry, it should pay out 50 percent to 70 percent of anticipated earnings in dividends. Over the course of the next five years, we intend to increase our dividend in the first quarter of each year in a measured, consistent manner to the middle of this payout range, which we will sustain so long as our financial health seems assured. As earnings grow, of course, the opportunity for higher dividend increases is presented,” said Christopher L. Dutton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Green Mountain Power.
Maura O’Dea, Associate AIA, and Penny Miller, Associate AIA recently joined Arnold & Scangas Architects in Colchester Vermont.
O’Dea is a LEED consultant and intern architect. Since earning her Master of Architecture in 2000, O’Dea has worked in the Burlington area focusing on sustainable design practices. She is secretary of the Vermont Green Building Network and has served on the Burlington Design Advisory Board.
Miller brings her many years of experience in architecture to the firm and has recently begun her architectural internship with the Intern Development Program. Her special interests in the firm are historic preservation and renovation work and affordable housing. She is a member of Building for Social Responsibility.
Sandra Steingard, M.D., Medical Director of The Howard Center for Human
Services, was selected by her peers to be included in Best Doctors in America
®2003-2004. Dr. Steingard has specific responsibilities for Howard’s adult
division serving individuals with mental illness and substance abuse problems.
Dr. Steingard was trained at Harvard and Tufts Universities. She is currently
Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UVM College of Medicine and

The Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) will submit to the Vermont Public Service Board a series of changes to the proposed transmission upgrade between Rutland and South Burlington. Known as the Northwest Vermont Reliability Project (NRP), the transmission upgrade is needed to meet the increased demand for electricity in Vermont.
Over the past two years, VELCO has held more than 150 meetings in Vermont communities. “Because of what Vermonters have told us, we have made a number of changes to our original proposal. In some cases that means re-routing the line to avoid neighborhoods. In other towns we will relocate substations to reduce environmental and visual impacts. We are working closely with the towns to substantially increase screening investment in plants and trees and have committed to reducing pole heights where possible and appropriate,” said VELCO project manager Tom Dunn said.

The Stern Center for Language and Learning has recently
expanded the staff at their Williston facility. Kim Johnson-Lesny, M.Ed.,
has joined the staff as an Educational Diagnostician. Amy Davis, M.Ed.,
and Gregory Martin, M.A. are Cinical Instructors. The Stern Center is
non-profit literacy organization with a satellite facility in White River
Junction.
Rutland Regional Medical Center has been granted accreditation by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP), according to Mike Dowdy, Director of Public Relations.
Accreditation for AABB follows an intensive on-site assessment by specially trained assessors and establishes that the level of medical, technical and administrative performance within the facility meets or exceeds the standards set by the AABB. By successfully meeting those requirements, Rutland Regional Medical Center joins approximately 2,000 similar facilities across the United States and abroad that have earned AABB Accreditation.
“The AABB’s Accreditation procedures are voluntary,” Dowdy explained. “Rutland Regional Medical Center has sought AABB Accreditation because this program assists facilities around the country in achieving excellence by promoting a level of professional and medical expertise that contributes to quality performance.”
Chittenden Corporation
(NYSE: CHZ) Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Paul A. Perrault,
announced higher earnings for the year ended December 31, 2003, of $74.8
million or $2.07 per diluted share, compared to $63.6 million or $1.96 a year
ago. For the fourth quarter of 2003, net income was $0.53 per diluted share,
compared to the $0.55 per diluted share earned in the fourth quarter of 2002.
The prior quarter amount exceeded the current quarter primarily due to higher
gains on sales of securities in 2002. Chittenden also announced its quarterly
dividend of $0.20 per share. The dividend will be paid on February 13, 2004,
to shareholders of record on January 30, 2004.
In making the announcement, Perrault said, "The past year has been a busy
one at Chittenden. In addition to our primary focus of delivering top quality

company's work in revitalizing downtown Brandon's Howe Scale Block. The
award was presented to The McKernon Group by the Home Builders and
Remodelers Association of Southern Vermont at an award ceremony on January
14th.
Kevin Birchmore, co-owner and Chief Operating Officer of The
McKernon Group accepted the award, attending the event with Project Manager
Brian Thomas.
