Vermont Business Magazine Weekly unemployment claims in Vermont rose slightly last week, but remain low, consistent with typical summer totals. There were 419 new, regular benefit claims for Unemployment Insurance in Vermont, an increase of 9 from the previous week's total and 49 more than they were a year ago. Generally, claims have been running below last year's totals.
