Vermont Business Magazine The Putney School Faculty and Student Housing project in Windham County includes (2) 13,600 SF identical dormitories totaling approximately 27,000 SF of new construction and associated site work by ReArch of South Burlington. Each of the two-story buildings will include faculty apartments featuring (3) bedrooms and (11) student dorm rooms. They will include a comfortable common space and a small kitchenette area with a full basement to support additional storage.

Garlic Town, USA, formerly known as the award-winning Southern Vermont Garlic & Herb Festival and produced by the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, announced that the downtown festival would return to Bennington on Labor Day Weekend this year. Bennington has become world-renowned for its annual garlic events held every year on Labor Day weekend. The town’s garlic events have been recognized as one of the top 10 garlic festivals in the world by Reuters, featured in Yankee Magazine, awarded Vermont’s Time-Honored Top 10 Fall Event and has consecutively been the Bennington Banner's and Manchester Journal's Reader’s Choice for Best Event in the Region.

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Arts Council is offering a new grant program to provide meaningful arts learning experiences for older Vermonters, hoping to ease the social isolation that sometimes arrives as people age. Creative Aging Grants provide up to $4,000 for organizations to provide skill-based arts instruction and intentional social engagement led by experienced teaching artists for older adults aged 60+. More than 9 percent of Vermonters are at least 65 years of age, and Vermont is on track to be the oldest state in the nation (age 65+) by 2032. Vermont also has one of the highest life expectancy rates, at nearly 80.

Vermont Business Magazine Feeding America, the nationwide network of 200 food banks, 21 statewide associations and 60,000 partner food pantries and meal programs, has announced the initial grant awards as part of the Food Security Equity Impact Fund. Nearly $10 million was awarded to 25 food banks, partnering with 60 different community-based organizations, to address the root causes of hunger and food insecurity by developing and advocating for change and developing solutions to improve food insecurity and to create a more just food system. Among the recipients is Vermont Foodbank, SUSU CommUNITY Farm, in Barre.

The festival organizers also wanted to thank all the sponsors, vendors, performers and attendees. For the Car Show, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Lifestyles Real Estate, the 1st Place Winner was a '57 Saab owned by Bruce Welch who was also awarded a $500 cash prize. The 2nd Place Winner was a '79 Camaro owned by Tom Ciufo who was also awarded an overnight stay at Echo Lake Inn. The 3rd Place Winner was a '69 Jeep owned by Jarrod Jowdy who was also awarded a gift bag from The Vermont Country Store.

Vermont Business Magazine I Heart Mac & Cheese, a South Florida-based fast-casual restaurant concept specializing in customizable, made-to-order macaroni and cheese bowls and grilled cheese sandwiches, announced it will open two locations in Vermont. The fast casual concept has signed a new franchise agreement that will be owned and operated by franchisee Robert Leonard. Leonard has inked a deal for St Albans and Williston slated to open in 2023.
