Vermont Business Magazine The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently awarded more than $35,000 to three Vermont oral health programs. The Foundation supports organizations and initiatives in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that provide oral health education and dental care to uninsured and underserved communities. In support of dental clinics and care, the Foundation awarded $15,000 to the Open Door Clinic for their Open Wide oral health care initiative offering free dental care to those in need. Grants awarded for research and education initiatives included $5,754 for dental assistant training support at the Red Logan Dental Clinic and a $15,000 grant for the general practice dental residency program at University of Vermont Medical Center

Mr. Reilly has served in various capacities at Lamar since 1989, then a family owned private business. He is a Harvard University and Harvard Law School graduate and began working on acquisitions and real estate for Lamar in 1989. He served as President of TLC Properties and became the Chief Operating Officer of Lamar in 2001. In 2011 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer. He currently serves as the Board Chair of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America.
Vermont Business Magazine Burlington City Arts is issuing a request for qualifications from artists or artist teams for public art works to be incorporated into the Great Streets Initiative–Main Street Project in downtown Burlington. Selected public art works will reflect the diversity of Burlington’s residents, explore the City’s history, create meaningful landmarks in our built environment, and connect the people, the land and the lake. The RFQ period opens November 1. This Great Streets Initiative – Main Street Project will commission multiple public art works to be distributed across six newly redesigned blocks on Main Street. The proposed budget for all public art works commissioned for this project is up to $500,000, to include artist honorariums for proposals and all fees associated with design, fabrication, and transportation of final selected public art works.
Vermont Business Magazine Pacific Group Resorts, Inc (PGRI) has completed the purchase of Jay Peak in Northern Vermont from the court-appointed receiver, Michael Goldberg. PGRI’s prevailing bid was approved by the United States District Court in Southern Florida, and the State of Vermont approved the assignment of leases for ski terrain allowing the sale to close on November 1, 2022, six and a half years after the resort entered receivership. Jay Peak becomes the sixth ski resort in PGRI’s portfolio including properties in New Hampshire, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, and British Columbia.
Vermont Business Magazine Paul and Gayle Brown, longtime owners of Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury Center, Vermont, recently completed the sale of their iconic business to former Stowe Cider General Manager Dan Snyder and a small investor group. Cold Hollow, well known for its cider donuts, specialty foods, and fresh cider pressed on an old-fashioned rack-and-cloth press, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The business is located on 16 acres in Waterbury on Route 100 between Ben & Jerry’s and the village of Stowe.

Vermont Business Magazine Primary producers of farm and forest products can now apply now for the ARPA-Funded Primary Producer grant opportunity! The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative (WLEI) has released a request for applications (RFA) totaling $1,000,000. This grant opportunity is possible due to federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds appropriated by the Vermont legislature to the Working Lands Enterprise Initiative. The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative anticipates releasing a second ARPA-Funded Primary Producer Grant opportunity in 2023, with available funds of up to $1,000,000. Examples of eligible primary production activities are farming, livestock rearing, maple sugaring, dairy, and logging.
Vermont Business Magazine November 1 marks the first day Vermonters can sign up for or change their health and dental plans for 2023. Thanks to a new law that extends financial help through 2025, Vermonters can get lower-cost health plans that cover preventive care like mental health services and annual check-ups. Vermonters can save money on the amount they pay for plans, called premiums, if they qualify and sign up on the health insurance marketplace. Tens of thousands of Vermonters already use this financial help, called subsidies or federal tax credits, to buy insurance through Vermont Health Connect.

House America is a national partnership in which HUD and USICH invited mayors, county leaders, Tribal nation leaders, and governors to use the historic investments provided through the American Rescue Plan to address the crisis of homelessness through a Housing First approach by immediately re-housing and building additional housing for people experiencing homelessness.
