Daniel Franklin, of Crafsbury, executive director at the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery, has been accepted into the 2025-26 class of the Obama Foundation Leaders USA program.
Obama leaders receive training in leadership development and civic engagement to help build their skills and scale their work across public, private and nonprofit sectors. Participants also have an opportunity to participate in virtual experiences and special events, including conversations with experienced mentors in the foundation's global network.
At the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery, a statewide training, advocacy and workforce development organization, Franklin leads efforts to transform systems of care for individuals and communities affected by substance use and mental health challenges. He focuses on breaking down systemic silos, advancing equity and building healthier environments to address the root causes of diseases of despair.
