Two Vermonters awarded Berkshire Bank Next Gen Scholarships

Vermont residents Julia Conway and Marilynn Brothers have been named two of 20 recipients of Next Gen scholarships awarded this year by Berkshire Bank. The awardees were selected for their academic achievements and commitment to community service and volunteerism.

Conway, an international security and law major at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and Brothers, a fine and performing arts major at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, will each receive $2,500 toward their college tuition and advancing their educational goals.

“At Berkshire Bank, we are driven to help empower individuals to reach their financial potential,” said Lori Gazzillo Kiely, managing director of the Berkshire Bank Foundation. “These Next Gen Scholars have overcome obstacles and are the doers of good deeds. They also possess an unsurpassed passion and values to improve the lives of those around them.”

Recipients included high school seniors, current college students, and adults pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited nonprofit college or technical school. They hail from New York and four of the six New England states.
