Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) is proud to announce that Suzanne Anair, administrator of the health system’s Centers for Living and Rehabilitation (CLR), will represent Vermont in the 13th Annual Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America program. The Vermont Health Care Association nominated Anair to attend based on her leadership skills and professional presence at the state level. The selection process is highly competitive, and only 38 long term care professionals were selected nationwide. Anair is the only representative selected from the state of Vermont.
The year-long program is hosted by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). It offers training and guidance for long term and post-acute professionals, beginning with a three-day symposium in Washington, DC, September 21 – 23. “I am honored to represent Vermont in this important program for the leaders of long term and post-acute care,” Anair said. “I know the program will offer many valuable insights I can bring home to Vermont, as well as to our team and residents at CLR.”
Anair received her bachelor’s in business from Johnson State College in Vermont in 1992. She grew in responsibility through several positions at Sweet Brook Transitional Care and Living Centers in Williamstown from 1992 – 2005, when she became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She worked as administrator for Springfield Health and Rehabilitation, VT, from 2007 – 2011 before returning to Sweet Brook and Sweetwood of Williamstown, MA, as executive director until 2013. Less than a year after having joined the team at CLR in 2013, she led the facility to a deficiency-free survey. Since then, she has completed $1 million in renovation projects at the Center.
