The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) announced today that it has hired Sarah Galbraith as its Farm to Plate Network Assistant. Ms. Galbraith was formerly the Operations Manager for the Biomass Energy Resource Center (BERC) which recently merged with Vermont Energy Investment Corporation. Since leaving BERC she interned with Food Works at Two Rivers Center, assisting them with fundraising and donor development.
“We are very pleased that Sarah has joined the VSJF staff,” said the Fund’s Executive Director, Ellen Kahler. “Sarah's experience and enthusiasm will be an excellent addition to the Farm to Plate team.” Kahler went on to say that Sarah will provide overall logistical support to the Farm to Plate Network, assist with writing and revisions to the F2P Strategic Plan, assemble F2P implementation success stories and work closely with other VSJF staff to accumulate content for the Vermont Food System Atlas.
"I am passionate about Vermont's food system, whether I'm growing my own food, buying food from a neighbor's farm, or supporting one of our well-known brands. I am looking forward to my role in laying the groundwork in Vermont for improved viability for food production and increased consumer access to fresh and nutritious food that is grown locally. I am very excited to be working with the excellent team at VSJF towards such an important mission."
In her spare time Ms. Galbraith contributes to several publications on outdoor recreation. She holds a BS in biology and lives with her family in Marshfield.
Established in 1995 by the Vermont Legislature, the VSJF provides financing, technical assistance and other resources to Vermont businesses who develop products and services and create jobs in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and forestry.
