The Radio Vermont Group radio announcer JD Green is returning

The Radio Vermont Group is proud to announce that well-loved local radio announcer JD Green is returning to the “family”. Beginning on Friday, September 16th, JD will replace Steve “Corm” Cormier as the morning host of “Wake-Up 101” on the 101-The One network of stations: WCVT-FM 101.7 Stowe-Burlington; WEXP-FM 101.5 Brandon-Rutland and 102.5 FM translator service in Montpelier.

“When I first heard 101-The One, I instantly reconnected with the music and found myself singing those songs I haven’t sung in many years. It just felt so good to have them back in my ears. Finally, someone had recreated that radio station I grew up with as a kid,” said Green. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with JD again,” said Music Director Frankie Allen of “Allentown” on 101-The One. “I actually hired JD for overnights on 101.7 back in the mid-90’s! This will be fun!”

According to Ken Squier, President of the Radio Vermont Group, “Corm has been doing double-duty for over a year, performing as our group Director of Sales and as the wake-up announcer on The One. With the recent expansion of our sales and digital services department and the launch of WDEV-FM on our Montpelier Translator (W252CU at 98.3), we need to give Corm back the time to focus on his primary responsibilities. Though we enjoyed having Corm on-the-air, this change is needed and we know JD is right for our audience.”

“Corm has been fantastic for us in so many ways,” said Eric Michaels, Executive Producer of 101-The One. “He is completely committed to radio and has demonstrated that commitment in every way. He has set the bar high but we are confident that JD Green will bring his special energy to

Wake-Up 101. This is simply a win-win-win for JD, Corm and our listeners.”

Green, his partner Charilyn and their 22-month-old daughter Lily share an old farmhouse with their two dogs, a cat and a few chickens. When not entertaining his radio audience, JD loves sailing, camping and writing. He is working on a book entitled “Beyond the Dog” about his 16 years with his dog “Buddy.” JD has been a featured columnist for the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus and the Rutland Herald sharing stories about dog ownership.
