New regional director of business development continues Northeast expansion

Max Spann Real Estate & Auction Co., a national auctioneer of elite properties, today announced that Glen McDonald recently joined the firm as Regional Director of Business Development.

McDonald has more than 20 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate as a builder, developer, land acquisition/disposition specialist, as well as a sales and marketing executive throughout the mid-Atlantic region as well as New York and New England.

McDonald joins Max Spann, based in Clinton, N.J., as the firm continues to expand its presence in the Mid-Atlantic States.

“Glen will play a key role in our firm as we continue to build our business in key markets along the Eastern seaboard,” said Maximillian M.E. Spann, chairman of the company. “Glen has the knowledge and experience that will serve our growing company well.”

This summer, Max Spann held successful auctions for major residential communities in Dewey Beach, Del., Chincoteague, Va., Cambridge, Md., North Bergen, N.J., Pt. Pleasant, N.J., Wildwood, N.J., and have two major auctions scheduled for October in Wilmington, Del.

During his career, McDonald has purchased, entitled, built and managed the development of hundreds of residential units and numerous award-winning resort communities on behalf of various entities, including three Fortune 500 builders.

His multi-faceted experience includes land acquisition/disposition, financing, product design and development, site improvements, asset management, sales, marketing, homeowner association management and commercial leasing.

“I understand the needs of the builders and developers in today’s uncharted and turbulent waters,” said McDonald. “The bottom line is that we collectively need to move through the stagnant inventory to live another day. We need to get through this period before the market can turn around. I feel good about what we are doing by helping to get inventory cleared so that stability and appreciation can return.”

Born in Columbia, Md., McDonald was raised there and in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia with a degree in engineering and a concentration in architecture. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in New Jersey. In addition, he is a member of the Builders League of South Jersey (BLSJ), the New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
