Nancy Heydinger has joined Brattleboro Savings & Loan (BS&L) as a mortgage loan originator. Nancy worked for two local banks earlier in her career as both an assistant bank manager and as a mortgage loan officer. “I’m especially happy to have this role with BS&L because it’s a community bank and is very progressive in its focus on social responsibility and community impact,” said Nancy. BS&L is thrilled to have Nancy join the team as the bank has seen a growing demand for mortgages.

Nancy is perhaps best known as the founder and executive director of Girls on the Run in Vermont, which she started in Vernon in 1999. “After 20 years, I’m excited to return to the work of helping people reach their dream of homeownership, which I did for many years before starting Girls on the Run,” said Nancy. “When I started in banking, I always enjoyed mortgage lending because it felt great working with people to discover what they could afford and how to make it happen.” Many of the relationships that were created in those early days continue to today. “I still have former customers approach me on the street to share their excitement of paying off their homes.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Nancy join our team, her enthusiasm to help borrowers with their financing needs and her commitment to the community are what we look for in our mortgage team members,” said Mia DeAngelis, BS&L’s vice president of residential lending. Nancy’s responsibilities will include working with first-time and seasoned home buyers throughout southern Vermont to understand their goals and then to find the best solution for them to get the financing they need. Nancy added, “Being a member of this community for the past 35 years has been a gift. It’s wonderful to be able to share that gift with both established and brand new Vermonters.”
