Make-A-Wish Vermont announces new staff and board members

Make-A-Wish Vermont has announced the addition of one new staff member and three new board members to their team.

Allison D. Mills, recently appointed to the Director of Development position, is a mission driven professional who brings experience in donor relations, marketing, volunteer coordination, and special events. She is a member of the Burlington Young Professionals Steering Committee through the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and has a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Marlboro College. She truly believes that one wish can be a game changer and is excited to share her optimism and commitment to the mission throughout the state of Vermont.

Recent board additions include Missy Kraus, Cherian Philip, and Chris Powell. Missy, the President of M. Kraus & Company is energetic and intelligent and has personal experience facing severe illness. This experience highlighted the importance of hope and expectation in the recovery process which is why she feels so connected to Make-A-Wish. Missy brings skills in finance management, investments, client stewardship, and leadership.

Cherian, Controller at Data Innovations, is a finance and accounting expert. His first experience with Make-A-Wish was as a teenager when his Boy Scout troop in Orlando, Florida volunteered with Give-Kids-the-World in Disney. He believes that giving kids the chance to live out a dream is the reason why Make-A-Wish is so important in our community.

Chris is the CEO of Precyse, and is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance and leadership of the organization. His ability to plan strategically and lead a team, as well as his knowledge of marketing and finance, make him an asset to Make-A-Wish. He looks forward to helping Make-A-Wish find a stronger place in the community to enable the chapter to grant the wishes of every eligible child.

Make-A-Wish serves a unique and vital role in helping to strengthen and empower children battling life-threatening medical conditions. The Make-A-Wish Vermont chapter, established in 1989, has granted over 680 wishes to eligible Vermont children with life-threatening medical conditions. This year, the organization will grant approximately 38 wishes to local children.
