Karl Washburn recently joined RSG, bringing over 25 years’ experience in noise control, acoustics, modeling, and simulation. In his role as Senior Consultant at RSG, Mr. Washburn will focus on projects related to community, environmental, and industrial noise. Mr. Washburn’s contribution will build on RSG’s long-standing expertise in acoustical and noise control analysis.
Before joining RSG, Mr. Washburn spent 13 years as a Noise Control Engineer with Deere and Company in Iowa and Illinois. Prior to that, he was an Acoustical Engineer with Integrex Testing Systems (a division of Owens Corning) and a Research Physicist at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. He is Board Certified through the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.

Mr. Washburn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Science in Acoustics from The Pennsylvania State University. He has also completed all but a dissertation towards a PhD in Computational Sciences and Informatics from George Mason University. Mr. Washburn is Board Certified in Noise Control Engineering and serves as the Secretary to the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.
