John Schlegelmilch, MD to retire as Chief Medical Officer and Office of the President of Cheshire Medical/Dartmouth-Hitchcock

After a career of service to patients and leadership of medical staff in the Monadnock region, John Schlegelmilch, MD will be retiring from his position as Chief Medical Officer and Office of the President of Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene on October 15, 2011. Dr. Schlegelmilch has accepted the position of Director Medical Affairs, Rheumatology at Janssen Biotech, a division of Johnson & Johnson. In his new position, Dr. Schlegelmilch will serve as a medical information resource for clinicians using Janssen’s new biological medications to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. This position is field-based, which will allow him to continue to live in the Keene community.

“I have enjoyed a long and gratifying 33-year career here in Keene practicing both Primary Care Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and caring for the wonderful patients of the Monadnock region and beyond. I have also had the opportunity to take on many different leadership roles as well. I have seen the clinic and hospital grow and expand their medical staffs and services and have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people over the years who have made a tremendous difference in the health of our community. Vision 2020 lives on in the community as we work to become the healthiest community in the nation,” stated Dr. Schlegelmilch.
