Four attorneys from the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin have earned “Lawyer of the Year” honors for 2025 from Best Lawyers, a peer-reviewed guide to the legal profession.

These include Burlington-based attorneys Christopher D. Roy (pictured), in the category litigation — land use and zoning; R. Prescott Jaunich, in land use and zoning law; and Tristram J. Coffin, for criminal defense — white collar; and St. Johnsbury-based attorney John H. Marshall, for environmental law in the Montpelier area.

“Lawyer of the Year” honors are awarded annually to only one lawyer per practice area in each region with extremely high overall feedback from their peers, making it an exceptional distinction.
