AFT Vermont elects statewide officers to executive committee

AFT Vermont, the state’s union of 10,000 health care and higher education workers, elected or reelected five members to its Executive Council at its 2024 convention in Burlington. They are:

  • Heather Bauman, student success adviser at Vermont State University, Castleton, elected vice president for health care.
  • Emily Casey, English lecturer at University of Vermont, elected vice president for higher education.
  • Nicole DiVita (pictured), phlebotomist at University of Vermont Medical Center, elected president for health care.
  • Sebastian Lucy, student success adviser at Vermont State University, Castleton, elected president for higher education.
  • Claire Whitehouse, research specialist at the University of Vermont’s Center for Rural Studies, elected secretary-treasurer.
