VLGS welcomes alumnus as visiting prof at Institute for Energy and the Environment

Kirt Mayland

Vermont Law and Graduate School has appointed Kirt Mayland as visiting professor at the Institute for Energy and the Environment.

Mayland, who received a Master of Laws degree in environmental law from VLGS, brings to the institute a wealth of experience in renewable energy development and environmental law. Before joining VLGS, he was affiliated with the Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate Adaptation at the University of Connecticut, where he taught renewable energy law, land-use law and environmental law.

“We are thrilled to welcome Professor Mayland to the IEE’s Energy Clinic,” said Mark James, interim director of the Institute for Energy and the Environment. “His experience and background, particularly with solar energy, hydroelectric and energy storage, will provide VLGS students with unique opportunities to engage in real-world projects that emphasize both environmental and social justice.”
