Vermont Historical Society welcomes three new staff members

The Vermont Historical Society recently welcomed three new members to its staff: Steve Picazio, librarian; Kate Malmstrom, program assistant; and Hannah Kirkpatrick, program coordinator.

Picazio joins the VHS from the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration, where he served as records and information management specialist. In his new role, he will oversee the Howard & Alba Leahy Library at the Vermont History Center in Barre.

Malmstrom is a graduate of the University of Vermont and previously worked in a variety of educational settings, including classrooms and national youth nonprofits. In her new role, she will assist with educational programming at the Vermont Historical Society Museum in Montpelier.

Kirkpatrick comes to the historical society from the Center for Community News in Burlington, where she served as research director. In her new role, she will oversee a program to train volunteer staff at historical societies around the state.
