Susan M. Murray of Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP has been named Vermont’s 2013 “Lawyer of the Year” in the practice area of Family Law.
She received this honor from Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession, because her fellow attorneys in the area of family law consistently rate her at the top of the field.
This marks the second time in the five-year history of the award that it has been bestowed upon Ms Murray, who was the first ever recipient of this title in 2009, and the third time that a Langrock attorney has been recognized. (In 2011, Christopher L. Davis, also of the firm, was namedBest Lawyers’ Vermont Family Law “Lawyer of the Year.”)
Murray, a graduate of Smith College and the New York University School of Law, has been with Langrock for 28 years. In addition to her work in the areas of family law and estate planning, she is well known for her role in the Baker v. Vermont case involving same-sex marriage and has an active practice in gay and lesbian family law. Murray lives in Ferrisburgh.
“Susan’s work in the area of family law is groundbreaking and her role in our firm, both as a first-rate legal mind and a committed partner, is greatly valued.” — Peter Langrock, Senior Partner
