Stephen M. Frey, AIA - LEED AP, owner of Arocordis Design, a Montpelier based architectural, workplace and interiors firm will be speaking at NEOCON East, the premier design exposition and conference for commercial interiors on the East Coast. He will be sharing recent work assisting National LIfe Group in modernizing their headquarters helping them transform it to reflect their tradition of corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship. He will tell the story of how National Life and their design team created an updated, brand and collaboratively focused, flexible high performing workplace.maximizing its real estate footprint for its primary business units. He will share best practices on how to rethink laying out football field sized work areas into neighborhoods with workspaces tailored to business needs while unified by underlying workplace strategies. Doing so helped the company free up additional leasable space to help permanently relocate state offices displaced by the devastation of Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. These efforts have contributed to company growth, helped attract and retain employees while upping company wide innovation and strengthening an already outstanding work culture.
Arocordis Design and Stephen M. Frey's other recent clients include AllEarth Renewables, The City of Montpelier, Montpelier Public Schools, Vermont Technical College. He frequently collaborates with Ward Joyce, AIA, also another Montpelier architect. His practice seeks to cultivate inspiring places and spaces in all of the work it does. Arocordis is a blend of two latin words' aro - to till, to cultivate and cordis - heart, mind, soul, spirit belying their thinking beneath all they the work they do. Arocordis Design combines these principles with practicing a values driven sustainably minded approach to design. He writes often about workplace design, sustainability and architecture.
