Priscilla Latkin, president of the Southern Vermont Area Health Education Center Board of Directors, received honorable mention for the National AHEC Organization’s 2022 AHEC Board Member Distinguished Service Award. NAO bestows this honor to individuals who have exhibited exceptional service as a volunteer member of an AHEC governing or advisory board.
Latkin, director of training, education and service excellence at Rutland Regional Medical Center, has served on the Southern Vermont AHEC board since 2018 and is in her second term as president.
“NAO created this award to acknowledge the vital, often behind-the-scenes work of our AHEC boards,” said Dwain Harris, NAO Chief Executive Officer. “Individuals who make up our governing and advisory boards are positioned to provide AHECs the guidance, energy and continuity we need to keep advancing our mission, and those board members honored at our leadership conference are among the best and most dedicated in the country. We cannot thank them enough for what they do.”
Jennifer Scott, executive director of Southern Vermont AHEC, added, “Priscilla has developed rich and enduring relationships with people, businesses and communities across the state. These relationships have greatly benefitted Southern Vermont AHEC as Priscilla willingly makes introductions and facilitates connections that advance our community projects and programs.”
