Jeff Favreau of South Burlington, a former sergeant at University of Vermont Police Services, has been hired as director of public safety at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, effective Oct 17.
In his new role, Favreau will lead a team of about 25 full-time and part-time public safety officers and dispatchers who serve the college community 24-7. Saint Michael’s College public safety officers are unarmed, uniformed civilians, and they are often among the first responders to campus requests for service and emergencies. They also frequently assist local law enforcement with nearby emergencies.
Favreau brings to Saint Michael's almost two decades of experience in Vermont law enforcement. Prior to his tenure at UVM, he worked for 13 years at the South Burlington Police Department, serving some of that time as a school resource officer in the city’s middle and high schools.
