The KidSafe Collaborative, which works to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect, has elected Dr Lewis First of the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital to its Honorary Board of Directors. Elected as new Directors are Samantha Finnefrock, of Bluebird Barbecue, and Jonathan Rose, of Dunkiel Saunders. All are residents of Burlington. KidSafe also elected the following officers of the Board: Carolyn Smith (Williston) of Hemmett Health, President; Cindy Olson (Williston) of the State of Vermont, Vice President/Secretary; Jeff Morin (Essex Junction) of JMM & Associates, Treasurer.
KidSafe Collaborative (www.kidsafevt.org) addresses the need for coordinated support to children and families through interagency Child Protection Teams, the KidSafe Collaborative Council, a Community Advisory Board, and its statewide trainings for mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. KidSafe is a partner agency of the United Way of Chittenden County.
