KeyBank welcomed two new branch managers, Orhan Smailhodzic and Paul Vallerand, to its Vermont retail banking team and promoted former branch manager Edward Sheldon to business banking relationship manager for the Vermont market.

Smailhodzic is responsible for sales and service performance of the bank’s Burlington branch at 149 Bank St. He has over 20 years of leadership and customer-service experience from numerous Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, he served as a general manager at The Courtyard by Marriott.

Vallerand will lead Key’s Barre branch at 315 N Main St. He joins Key with 10 years of banking experience in consumer finance, including six in retail banking and investments, and four years with State Farm insurance. He began his banking career in North Dakota with Wells Fargo, where he was a licensed personal banker, specializing in estates, trusts and mass affluent clientele.

Sheldon will be responsible for managing existing and developing new commercial client relationships with businesses with annual revenues ranging from $3 million to $25 million. He joined KeyBank in 2020 as manager of Key’s Brattleboro branch, serving clients throughout southern Vermont, New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Prior to joining Key, he spent 10 years as a business development manager and market director for Proctor & Gamble, where he worked closely with partner businesses on financial planning, product distribution and marketing/promotional strategies.
