Humane Society of Chittenden County welcomes new board members

Joyce Cameron, President & CEO of the Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC), is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors:

Caroline Canning began volunteering for animal welfare organizations after retiring from a long career with Liberty Mutual Group. She has since been involved in a wide variety of causes including fostering for New England Lab Rescue, assisting local dog rescue groups in Costa Rica, and facilitating studies to help howler monkeys in Costa Rica travel across roads and avoid dangerous power lines. Caroline is also involved with Humane Society International and is a member of the Humane Society of the United States Vermont State Council.

Yvonne Lockerby is currently the VP of Centralized Operations at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. She has over 20 years of experience in operations across multiple industries. Her passion and love for animals led her to join HSCC’s Board of Directors, where she can use her skills for the betterment of animals and the organizations that serve them.

Maureen Schake is an avid environmentalist and animal lover whose career includes over twenty-five years of administrative experience in higher education, including eight years at the Harvard Kennedy School.
