Howard Center taps Tonya Mason for director of developmental services

Howard Center, a private, nonprofit organization providing mental health, substance use and developmental disability services to children, adults and families throughout Vermont, has appointed Tonya Mason as director of developmental services.

In her new role, Mason will join the client services cabinet, lending her clinical knowledge and experience to further Howard Center's objectives. Her approach, which emphasizes creative and collaborative thinking, will continue to shape Howard Center's developmental services and foster beneficial relationships across the organization.

Mason initially joined Howard Center in 1998 as a substitute in the developmental services residential homes. Over the years, she has served in various capacities, including direct service roles, leadership positions across developmental services and a brief period with the Children and Youth Family residential programs.

She has a bachelor's degree in social work and a master's degree in leadership and organizational development.
