Richard Cassidy, a founding partner at Hoff Curtis, will present at the Vermont Bar Association’s 2009 Employment Law Seminar on November 19th in White River Junction. This year’s seminar, which allows participants to earn MCLE credits, will be in the form of a summary mock trial, with Cassidy as one of two attorneys for the plaintiff. The case involves claims for discrimination and retaliation, including “whistleblower” claims, and claims arising under Vermont’s Parental and Family Leave Ac (PFMLA), the federal family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Vermont’s Fair Employment Practices Act (FEPA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VII. “In terms of keeping one’s skills sharp and one’s knowledge up to date, the only thing better than attending a timely continuing legal education program is presenting at one. As a member of the VBA Employment Law Section, I’m delighted to take this role on, in what promises to be an excellent program.”
