Alex Keefe joins Vermont Public Radio

Alex Keefe, a political reporter with public radio station WBEZ in Chicago, will join Vermont Public Radio in November as the station’s new host of the afternoon news magazine program All Things Considered.

A WBEZ Chicago reporter since 2010, Keefe has primarily covered federal, state and local government and politics, with a particular interest in LGBT rights, gun rights, and municipal finance. His work on Illinois’s pension troubles has won him awards from the Illinois Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists. His journalism has also been recognized by Public Radio News Directors Incorporated, and he was named Best Newswriter by the Illinois AP in 2011 and 2013.

Prior to that, Keefe was a reporter and host at WVIK-FM in Rock Island, Ill.

Keefe begins on November 10. All Things Considered can be heard weekdays from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on VPR stations statewide, and at VPR.net.
