The Windham Foundation, a Grafton-based organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the social, economic and cultural vitality of Vermont’s smaller communities, has hired Bill Kuhnert as director of finance.
Kuhnert, who graduated from Cornell University with a double major in mathematics and economics, brings to his new position more than 25 years of financial leadership and expertise in the field, ranging from resort management and hospitality to food production, packaging and distribution.
He is currently co-owner, chief operating office and chief financial officer of Vermont Family Farms, a North Springfield-based company that supports Vermont farmers by facilitating the promotion and distribution of agricultural products to consumers. Kuhnert also serves on several boards and clubs, including his current position as board member of the Vermont Specialty Foods Association.
“When I heard that the foundation was looking for a financial professional, I jumped at the chance,” Kuhner said. “It’s important to me that we maintain Vermont’s rural landscape for future generations, and this is part of the foundation’s core mission. I’m truly hoping my contributions can make an outsized impact.”
