The Vermont Symphony Orchestra recently recognized Susi Learmonth of
Corinth as the Volunteer of the Year for her dedicated service to the
organization. Learmonth helped launch the new VSO Family Halloween Concert
in Bradford to benefit area *SymphonyKids* programs, the Orchestra’s
outreach program in local schools, and raised funds for the April 2010
Terezin Remembered project in Burlington. Learmonth also serves as a
regional trustee on the Upper Valley Friends of the VSO.
The VSO is governed by a 20-member board of directors, chaired by Ken
Squier of Stowe, and supported by a statewide network of 91 volunteer
leaders configured into six regional boards of trustees including the Upper
Valley Friends.
“We are especially grateful to Susi for her role in bringing music to
the families of the Upper Valley,” says VSO executive director Alan Jordan.
“Our *Witches and Winds *Halloween concert was a great success again this
year. The proceeds are very important in helping us bring classical music
to children in local schools throughout the year.”
